Considered to be one of the top 10 most influential languages and the sixth most spoken language around the globe, Portuguese is one of the most beneficial and advantageous languages currently in the world.
There is absolutely no doubt that this language is extremely popular considering that it is also the third most commonly utilised European language. Many different individuals have opted to master this language as a second language, specifically due to the many benefits this language has to offer in all the different industries.
Let’s now see how learning Portuguese has personally benefited me.
There are many different reasons why individuals tend to master a specific language. What are the primary reasons for mastering a new or a foreign language is simply to avail the benefits of the said language.
Global languages like French, German and Spanish have been very popular among the masses due to their many popularity. With that said there are some other languages like Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, etc which are also very beneficial in nature but not as popular when compared to the three global languages.
In this blog, I will discuss all the ways that learning Portuguese has benefited me.
For starters, Portuguese is a global language but in my opinion, is highly underrated. In fact, the number of Portuguese speakers that you happen to come across who speak the language natively is way more in comparison to French, Japanese, German, Russian, etc.
Portuguese is also a Romance language and as someone who wanted to learn more languages, this was the best choice.
As a Romance language, it enables you to master other Romance languages like French, Italian, Romanian, Spanish, etc. Apart from this, Portuguese is an extremely beautiful language. Portuguese culture is an extremely vibrant and warm one. It is common knowledge that learning a language helps you experience the culture as well. If you like exploring new cultures, then I highly suggest learning Portuguese.
As previously mentioned, this is an underrated language.
This means that, though it is spoken by multiple people around the globe, employers are less likely to expect you to be proficient in it. Instead, they’d probably expect you to be proficient in French, German or Spanish. Therefore, this is a great language to take people by surprise and stand out from the crowd.
In this blog, we have discussed and explored the different advantages that I could personally enjoy simply by achieving proficiency in the language of Portuguese.
With that said, it would be unfair to not mention that Portuguese has many other benefits of learning it apart from the ones mentioned. Certain benefits can only be availed in certain industries or streams or in certain countries therefore if you wish to enjoy those conditional benefits, you would have to correlate the ultimate benefits of learning Portugal’s along with your final goal. With that said, I definitely suggest mastering the language of Portuguese as there is no doubt that this language is among one of the most popular ones in the world.
