How to learn German in 3 months?
German, or Deutsch, is a West Germanic language that is mostly spoken in Central Europe. It is the most frequently spoken language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the Italian province of South Tyrol, and it is an official or co-official language in the following countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the Italian province of South Tyrol. It is also a co-official language of Luxembourg, Belgium, and portions of southern Poland, as well as Namibia’s national language. After English, German is the most commonly spoken Germanic language. The language has been influential in the fields of science and technology, where it is the second most commonly used scientific language and among the most widely used languages on websites. The majority of its vocabulary derives from the ancient Germanic branch of the Indo-European language family, while a smaller share is partly derived from Latin and Greek, along with fewer words borrowed from French and Modern English. Modern Standard German is a West Germanic language in the Germanic branch of the Indo-European languages.
German is considered to be one of the easiest languages to master for a native English speaker.
What this means is that due to the significant similarities in the two languages, an English native speaker is likely to benefit from the reduced amount of hours and weeks required to learn the German language. According to FSI [Foreign Service Institute of languages], German ranks in Category 2, which requires about 30 weeks or a total of 750 hours. 30 weeks roughly converts to about 7.5 months. So, you’d require at least 7.5 months to completely master the German language with ease. With that said, how would anyone manage to learn a language that requires 7.5 months in just 3 months? The answer is quite simple. When I say 7.5 months, I mean dedicating about 3 to 4 hours per day to your German studies, but if you were to dedicate a much larger amount of time with a few sneaky tricks, you’re likely to master German in just 3 months. For example, instead of 3 or 4 hours, try studying for 7 or 8. I know it probably sounds taxing, but it is going to significantly reduce the number of months you’ll require to finish learning the German language. Some tricks you can utilize are:
- Read aloud: Reading aloud is like killing two birds with one stone. You’ll improve your reading and your speaking skills.
- Maintain a journal: Maintaining a journal for your daily activities and experiences is a beautiful and eventful practice. Now, consider maintaining it in German. You’ll document your daily life and improve your writing skills.
- Entertain yourself: Watch German shows and movies with English subtitles and listen to German music and read English lyrics. This is a fun and interesting way of sneaking in some language learning in your relaxation time.
- Label things: I know how paranoid that sounds but labelling everything in your house in German will help you memorize the basic objects on a daily basis.
Finally,
German is also frequently taught as a foreign language, particularly in Europe, where it ranks third behind English and French, and in the United States. German, one of the world’s main languages, is spoken by over 130 million people and is the native language of almost 100 million people globally. It is the most widely spoken native language in the European Union. The German-speaking nations are rated fifth in terms of yearly book publishing, with one-tenth of all books (including e-books) produced in Germany.
