How to learn Hindi well in the shortest time?

Hindi language, member of the Indo-Aryan group within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is the preferred official language of India, although much national business is also done in English and the other languages recognized in the Indian constitution. In India, Hindi is spoken as a first language by nearly 425 million people and as a second language by some 120 million more. Significant Hindi speech communities are also found in South Africa, Mauritius, Bangladesh, Yemen, and Uganda. Hindi is the main language of the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and the capital Delhi in North India; Bihar and Jharkhand in Eastern India; Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in Central India and Rajasthan in West India. It’s widely understood in several other states of India.

Set Goals

Set your goal by tagging it to the time limit in which you wish to learn the Language. By simply saying “I want to learn Hindi this year,” does not reach you to achieve your fluency, instead set goals like “I want to be able to order in Hindi by the end of the month,” or “I want to reach some level of Hindi” These are more specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound and realistic goals.

Start with Sounds

Once you have a smart plan for approaching your Hindi studies, it’s time to start with sounds. Learning how to hear, pronounce and spell the sounds of your words in your target language is a great place to get started before you start memorizing words and their meanings.

Allot some time for focusing on learning the alphabet and reading words so that Hindi words are no longer new to you. You can also take help with YouTube for listening to pronunciation guides on, watch movies or series with Hindi subtitles.

Keep a Vocabulary book with you

Always have a journal, document, or book with you. It will help you keep all the practical words you have learned in one place. Keep writing words, translations, notes, image or using mnemonics to memorize words to use anywhere and anytime when you are free.

Learn the Grammar

Grammar provides the rules for the game in a language and it seems to be a complex part for all. It can be simplified by Adding words (I am Hindi > I am not Hindi), Changing existing words (I learn Hindi > I learned Hindi), Changing the order of words (Hindi is easy > Is Hindi easy?)

Interact in Hindi

Try to interact in Hindi with others daily. Speaking as much as possible is one of the best ways to learn a language fast. Writing a letter to a friend, family member, or coworker, or to yourself. Interact with native Hindi speakers or with fellow Hindi learner. Writing an email in Hindi to interact with others and Watch a Hindi drama or movie and repeating the subtitles can help. Finally, try to sing the lyrics of Hindi songs. 

Online sources

There are many online sources that provide lists of the most frequently used words in each language that can help you start your learning in a practical way. Learn to know the majority of the words in a language to be able to speak it well. 

You can earmark 20% of the effort on learning new vocabulary and 80% for comprehension in the language. By learning the most frequently used vocabulary first, you are able to understand and communicate in a language much faster. The Internet is like a friend to you, where you can find a variety of new words.

E-books

E-books are again one of the simplest ways to go for Self Study. Yes, self-study. People often go for the Ebooks pattern to gather confidence before jumping into something serious, such as formal classes. There are a number of E-books available online. Some of them are Amazon Kindle etc

Youtube

Youtube is one of the fastest platforms of Google which is pre-installed nowadays in every smartphone. You can watch the videos here in this app to learn Hindi. 

Make Mistakes

Do not get fear making mistakes, treat it the same way you would treat learning another academic subject, and in the language learning world, mistakes are a sign of progress. Making mistakes will help you to learn faster. Be bold and try to speak with them in their native language.
