The passengers travelling via airplanes can now enjoy in-flight WiFi as the government has laid down the rules regarding the same. For obtaining the license, the interested parties are required to apply to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
These parties will then be eligible for providing services to the airlines operating domestic flights and international flights flying over the Indian airspace and above an altitude of 3,000 meters. These services can be provided using satellites as well as on-ground telecom networks.
