How long will it take me to relearn French?
Francois is an Indo-European language that belongs to the Romance family of languages. As with all Romance languages, it is descended from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire. In Gaul, and more specifically in Northern Gaul, French developed from Gallo-Romance. These languages were previously spoken in northern France and southern Belgium but were mostly replaced by French (Francien).
French is a Romance language that is considered to be one of the easiest languages to master for every English native speaker.
Due to it being a Romance language, it is also connected to a lot of other Romance languages like Spanish, Italian, Romanian, etc. Considering how easy French is to master, it is also one of the most popular second languages around the globe. The language of love is no stranger to a multiplicity of benefits that accompany learning it. With that said, if you happen to already have learnt it, but now wish to relearn it, then you’re in luck. Re-learning a language is actually much easier and quicker than you would imagine, especially when that language is as easy as French. If you plan on re-learning French, then that would mean that you’ve already mastered it to some extent. It would also mean that you are well-versed with the basics or at least remember some important parts of the basics of the language. In my opinion, the process of re-learning a language as easy as French is divided into three parts.
Step one would be to note down all the aspects of the language that you perfectly remember or that you are perfectly well-versed with. For example the sentence formation or grammar or maybe vocabulary. Step two would be to note down all those aspects which you do not remember perfectly and hence, they would require a decent amount of practice. The third step would be to note down all of those aspects of the language which you have completely forgotten or just cannot remember for the time being.
To be very honest, the amount of time each person takes to re-learn a language solely depends on the person themselves. If you happen to remember a lot more than you happen to forget then you are going to take a very small amount of time to re-learn the language. On the other hand, if you happen to forget a lot more than you happen to remember then you are automatically going to take much longer in comparison. With that said, as previously mentioned, French is a rather easy language to learn even for a beginner. Hence, in order to relearn it, you are most likely going to take a shorter amount of time.
Finally,
Native Celtic languages of Northern Roman Gaul like Gallia Belgica and (Germanic) Frankish language of the post-Roman Frankish invaders affected French as well as other European languages. As a result of France’s previous foreign expansion, there exist a number of creole languages based on French, including Haitian Creole.
