Why did you learn French as a foreign language?

The language of love is a Romance language of the Indo-European family.  Learning French helps one improve his artistic and critical thinking skills. French is also the 18th most natively spoken language in the world, the 6th most spoken language by a total number of speakers and the second or third most studied language worldwide.

We live in a world where skills are basically the evidence of competence. Therefore, many of us consider learning a second language to portray our skills of not just patience and valuable effort but also to the strategic expansion of our future opportunities. Fair enough, but how does learning this language expand one’s career or future job opportunities? Well, learning French means being able to communicate with 300 million speakers worldwide. With French as the third most used language on the internet, you can communicate with these 300 million speakers online and with France as the world’s fifth-largest economy, it would attract all sorts of entrepreneurs, artists, philologists and students. Learning French would mean being able to get a spot beside one of these. Finally, French also enables an individual to secure many jobs in multinational companies as these days MNCs require students who can speak more than just one language and what better than the one spoken by a huge clientele. In fact, Careers like Translator, Interpreters, Flight attendants, Editors, Ambassadors or Diplomats, Lawyers and Think Tank staff, all prescribe an individual to learn French due to different reasons but ultimately because of French either helps them develop an extra skill or expand their knowledge. 

Learning more than one language has turned into a necessity instead of an option because no-one can survive in this competitive industry with the knowledge of just one language. In my opinion, French opens up a million opportunities in different sectors. This might come as a surprise but the language of love and culture is in fact, an analytical language. It focuses on logic, reasoning and critical thinking. French prepares an individual with important skills for debates like negotiation and case presentation. Learning French also helps you learn more than one language. Essentially, due to its uncanny similarities with other Romance languages like Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, etc, learning French alone is bound to give you a headstart to learning the rest.
