There can be no such question as which language is better than another to learn. Each language is unique in itself; it is different from any other language and is loved by its native speakers or by those for whom it is their first language or mother tongue.
Yes, but, a question can be asked or framed in a slightly different manner – One can ask which of any two languages is easier to learn, or which of the two has a wider scope, or which of the two is found more enthralling by language-learning enthusiasts over the world.
There can, definitely, be answers to these questions; answers which would be more or less correct or as per the facts!
Let us draw comparisons between the following two languages:
Spanish and German, both are European languages; both existed long before English came into regular use. In fact, English has evolved from many European languages combined and has many of its words derived from these older languages.
It is widely believed that Spanish is very easy to learn for those who are proficient in the English language. This is because there are many similarities between English and Spanish, even more than the number of similarities between English and french. The Spanish language is also believed to be easy to learn in a span shorter than a period or duration generally required to learn any other European language, for connoisseurs of the English language.

Spanish is spoken on a much wider scale throughout the world than German is spoken. A reason behind this is that Spanish colonies had been established on many continents of the world, and the colonists were successful in imposing their native language, Spanish, on the people that they had slaved. They did this mainly for ease of communication, as they had to conduct business and trade with the slaved communities and territories. This was achieved with the help of their growing military presence in the regions that they were ruling. Many people in the Americas speak Spanish, due to the same above-mentioned causes. Even on the African continent, a large number of people in some countries where Spanish colonies existed and flourished, speak the Spanish language even today.
The influence of the Spanish language is comparatively less in Asia. Colonies of English, Portuguese, Dutch, French-dominated in the Asian continent.
On the other hand, German is a language of intelligence. It is far more difficult than Spanish to learn. There are, however, many world-class universities in Germany that offer excellent courses in a variety of streams and areas and subjects. Those who wish to seek admission in any of these universities should definitely think of learning German before moving to the land, not because one cannot do it in Germany without learning its official language but because some courses which have higher standards are offered in the German language.

Moreover, Germany is also a country that is home to a large number of multinational companies and international businesses.
A few German-based companies that have and have been ruling the world are:
- SAP,
- Deutsche Telekom,
- BMW,
- Daimler,
- Deutsche Post
- Mercedes-Benz,
- Porsche,
- Audi
- Volkswagon
- Deutsche Bank
- Allianz
- Siemens
- Aldi
- Adidas
- Bosch, etc.
If one wishes to be a part of any of these world-leading business conglomerates, one must consider learning German to be able to get a wider and broader scope of career opportunities.
Even German history has been fascinating for the entire world, especially, for its most remarkable, or we should say, a notorious phase known to us all.
Whatever the reasons or scope be for learning any European, or for that matter, any foreign language, it is always fulfilling and interesting, as well as enlightening to learn a new language and attain proficiency or expertise or perfection in it.
To test and/or to prove one’s proficiency in any language, there are globally recognized tests of proficiency in those languages.
For example:
For Spanish, it is DELE which stands for Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (Diplomas of Spanish as Foreign Language)
For German, it is TestDaF which stands for Test Deutsch ALS Fremdsprache
In order to score excellently in these tests, one must take systematic, thorough training meant for attaining proficiency in foreign languages. This training can be taken even from the comfort of one’s home through the medium of online foreign language learning courses made available by a number of edtech platforms which are an evolution of language training institutes. Online language learning takes place generally via audio-visual learning sessions, wherein a learner and the trainer can communicate or interact with each other face to face in real-time; the student can ask questions, get the doubts cleared; the teacher or instructor can take an oral revision, correct mistakes, if any, etc.
One can simply search for online classes for foreign languages by looking for an online Spanish learning course, learning German online, online French classes, Russian speaking courses, spoken English online courses, etc.
