JNU – Centre for Korean Studies (CKS)
The language courses at JNU need no introduction.
The Centre for Korean Studies (CKS) is a unit of the School of language, literature, and culture studies (SLL&CS) at JNU.
It is the most active academic center for promoting the understanding and research of Korean.
The center offers full-time B.A., M.A., M.Phil, and Ph.D. programs in Korean language, literature, and culture studies.
The admission is granted based on an entrance examination.
If you are interested in pursuing a degree and master-level Korean courses in India, then JNU is the best choice in the country.

Korean Courses at Delhi University
There are two types of Korean language courses at Delhi University.
One is at the university level, and the other is a few Colleges affiliated to DU offering part-time Korean language classes in Delhi.
(i) DU Colleges with Korean courses
SGTB Khalsa → One-year Certificate.
St. Stephen’s College → One-year certificate.
Daulat Ram College → 3-year Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma.
Shyam Lal College, Shahdara → 2-year Certificate, and Diploma.
Ramjas College, University Enclave, New Delhi → 2-year Certificate, and Diploma.
(ii) Department of East Asian Studies
The Department of East Asian Studies at Arts faculty runs a one-year full-time pg intensive diploma (KF-1) and a one-year full-time pg intensive advanced Diploma (KF-2).
No prior Korean knowledge is a prerequisite for KF-1.
The students pursuing MA, M.Phil., or Ph.D. in East Asian studies have to choose one language between Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean.
The admission is through the SLAT entrance Test.

JMI (Faculty of Humanities and Languages)
From the academic year 2017-2018, the faculty of humanity offers a One-year Certificate and a One-year Diploma course in the Korean Language.
Jamia Millia Islamia has signed an MoU with the Korea foundation supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to teach certificate and elective Korean Language courses in JMI.

Korean Language Courses
The total number of seats is 40 for a year-long certificate course and 30 for the Diploma. The fee for each program is Rs 7,200.
From the academic session 2019-20, the department began offering a BA in Korean.
The admission to all Korean programs based on merit is determined by an entrance test conducted by JMI, followed by an interview if required.

Korean Education in Manipur University
The much-awaited Korean training began in September 2012 at Manipur University.
The Korean language is quite popular in Manipur. Since the Hallyu wave struck, Korean movies and pop to fashion styles are followed closely by many youngsters in Manipur and seven states of the region.
Due to this emulation of Korean culture, Manipur University has finally started a 3-year full-time BA in Korean and PG Advance Diploma in Korean (KF-1 & KF-2).
It is also one of the TOPIK test centers in India.

BHU (Arts Faculty)
Students can focus on Korean courses at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) through the Department of Foreign Languages.
The faculty of Arts at BHU offers a two-year part-time Diploma in Korean.
Diploma courses are open only for Regular students of the BHU currently enrolled in any ongoing full-time course of BHU within the main campus in Varanasi.
The qualifying examination for the Diploma program is 10+2 or (equivalent) or higher as the case may be.

English and Foreign Language University (EFLU), Hyderabad
Interdisciplinary study in a variety of languages allows students to integrate the study of history, literature, culture, and Foreign Languages at EFLU (English and Foreign Language University.
It is only one of its kind in India dedicated to teaching foreign languages.
The department of Asian languages, through the School of Arab and Asian studies at EFL, offers a variety of East Asian language courses at Hyderabad.
The Department of Asian languages offers a 1-year part-time certificate, diploma, and advanced diploma in Korean proficiency through the entrance test.

Nalanda University (School of Languages and Literature)
Nalanda University was one of the oldest Universities in the world founded in the fifth century.
The new Nalanda University is envisaged as a center of the inter-civilizational dialogue.
Students can focus on Korean language and literature at Nalanda University through the School of Languages and Literature/ Humanities.

Central University of Jharkhand (Centre for Far East Languages)
Established in 2009, The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), in keeping with the changing times in the age of globalization, started various foreign language courses.
It runs programs through the Centre for Far East Languages under the aegis of the School of Languages.
All programs offer a multidisciplinary curriculum with a focus on history, literature, language, and culture.

IGNOU (School of Foreign Languages)
Students interested in pursuing Korean Language courses in IGNOU can seek admission for a Certificate in Korean Language & Culture Programme (CKCL) through Distance Learning.
It was started in the July 2018 session.
The CKLC aims at people who want to acquire basic level communication skills in Korean.
