Learning Japanese instead of other languages?

Nowadays when people are rushing to learn foreign languages like Spanish, French, German, etc. I always face the question that why did I learn Japanese as a foreign language? So for this question, the answer might vary from person to person as each person has their own motivation to learn the language. For me, the first and foremost reply to this particular question would be: It’s often termed that globalization opens international markets, and that was the most important reason why I decided to learn Japanese as a foreign language. Let me explain in brief. 

After the United States and China, Japan is the third-largest economy in the world. The Japanese economy is larger than Germany and the United Kingdom which are the fourth and fifth-largest economies in the world. Learning Japanese will boost up your professional value and you will have less competition in various opportunities that are available in different sectors like, humanities, technology, business, science, social sciences, journalism and tourism, interpreter, translator, etc. I wanted to learn Japanese for more than one reason. They are to become a translator, for the tourism sector and for Journalism purposes As I am from a literature and Journalism background. Japanese is not a very commonly laugh language like the other common foreign languages. If you want to become a translator for the government or any language service provider or become an interpreter then your competition is lower when you are speaking Japanese compared to the other more commonly taught languages. Unlike English and other European languages, there is a lack of reliable Japanese translation tools and software. The demand for Japanese specialists is going high but the competition is relatively low and it the highest paying language in the translation and interpreter world. 

In the present scenario, many companies and MNC’s based in India are trying to increase their client base in Japan which opens up an excellent opportunity in the job sector. If you wish to go to Japan for higher studies then you are on the right track as Japan has one of the best education systems in the world. So studying in Japan will definitely improve your employability and it can be a great career asset for you. Again, suppose you are working in an international company, they’re speaking a foreign language like Japanese will create more opportunities for you to get a fast promotion and also you may be posted to an overseas branch.

Learning Japanese makes you different from others and sets you apart from the crowd. Learning this language broadens your mind as you can encounter a new way of thinking. Another important point is if you are interested to learn other Asian languages in the future then learning Japanese will make that much easier. Japanese teachers are in high demand. Learning Japanese can create immense scope for you. You have job possibilities in the Travel and tourism sector also.
