Introduction:
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought drastic changes by introducing e-learning to all educational institutions across the world. Physical schools are considered to be unsafe in the absence of vaccinations and that has made most of the educational institutes come up with the temporary solution of E-learning from online platforms like Google Classroom, Zoom, etc. “A very big fat no”! If this goes on for the long term the physical interaction among the people, especially the kid that needs motivation in learning will disappear. In the case of a pandemic, it is indeed safer to be learning from home. But the negligence is undeniable for the kids learning from home. Instead of the kids learning, their parents do their homework so they can get good scores but what’s missing is that the students will no longer try to learn on their own, and the basic foundation of the manner and etiquettes that we learn from the classroom and school will disappear.
Things to keep in mind
-
Technical glitches and problems it creates.
Indeed, all families may not have at least one techie or a person who’s not very advanced with today’s technology at their homes. Those people are going through hard times to get their kids to be able to take classes online. Parents may lose temper and blamed their kids when they are not able to hear a word because of connectivity issues or other issues as we all rely on our parents to pay our school fees, recharge for our Internet usage, and all our necessities. Students may not be able to take proper online classes due to situations like the above and more.
-
Lack of human socialization.
As we all know, learning isn’t just an intellectual activity, but a social one. Educational institutions nowadays not only focus on books but are upgrading with other classes where students can interact and learn from each other to grow themselves accordingly whereas, in E-learning, there’s no break time where students can hang around and play to create memories of their school lives apart from just learning their books. It will create a huge scene where our kids need to go see a child psychiatrist counselor as they are kept isolated for months. Kids will live in a phase where their physical well-being may compromise.
