Introduction:

It has been more than a year since I have started learning Spanish. The journey was not very smooth. It is generally this case when somebody does not know the language at all. I had my ups and downs. The only thing that remained throughout was my effort. I did not give up no matter how difficult it was getting. Well I learned a lot of things, I made a lot of mistakes but that is how a person learns. I would love to tell you all my experience of learning Spanish so that you can learn from my experience and get some useful tips for yourself. I had nobody to guide me at the start, but you have me.

In this article, I will give you a complete guide on how to get started with learning Spanish by sharing my personal experience.

You first need to make up your mind. There will be difficulties ahead, so be prepared from the start to face it and do not give up.

 Be motivated.

• Put efforts.
• Spend quality time learning the language.
• Don’t give up.
•  Do not overburden yourself. Go one step at a time.

I always kept these magic mantras in mind and wrote on the front page of my diary. I made sure I always sat to learn Spanish with a healthy and positive mind.

Now, since you are all in the mood to begin to learn Spanish you need to have a kick start. The first thing I did was to get my essentials ready.

• A downloaded app that will help you learn Spanish
• Some good Spanish training websites.

 I started by watching some videos and getting tips from there. You can also buy a basic book with the Spanish letters in it or can do it online. I preferred using the book. I started doing the Alphabet. Keep the book open and hear audios that teach the pronunciation of these letters. There are apps and websites that especially teach pronunciation.  Make sure you do this part well. The base has to be strong. You can also practice writing them. I wanted to learn to write also, so I did it along with learning to speak.

I then gathered words in Spanish with their English meanings. I had no idea of Spanish. I started making a list of common English words and then how to speak them in Spanish. I had a huge list ready with me. I learned all of them and made sure I kept adding more words every day to the list. After this, I knew how to speak words in Spanish.

The next step was actually learning to speak a complete sentence. It was too difficult for me as when I heard it, but I couldn’t do it. Then I started learning Spanish phrases of Spanish.

I realized that I was missing the grammar part. Grammar plays an important role in any language. If you know the grammar well you will be able to create sentences. I did not think of this at the start. As I told you mistakes do happen. But then learning grammar was too difficult for me for some reason. I realized I needed help, but who should I ask for help? I tried contacting some people to help me out and they suggested that I get training from an expert. I wondered why this thought didn’t strike my mind. It happens. Never mind. Now the question was, where do I find the expert? I started searching online. I came across dozens of apps that claimed to help me out. I was so confused.
